Non-emergency city offices will be closed Wednesday. We anticipate reopening for normal business on Thursday.

All Volusia County public schools and district offices will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30. All school activities, events, and programs scheduled for Wednesday are canceled.

Alert DeLand - Sign up for / log into Alert DeLand

The City of DeLand has implemented Alert DeLand, an emergency public notification system. The program allows the city to contact the entire community or to target specific areas in case of an emergency or for urgent situations that require the public's immediate attention such as natural disasters (hurricane or tornado warnings), road closures, missing person cases, and more.

Users can choose how they want to receive alerts. You can choose to receive alerts on your home or business phone, mobile phone, email, text messages, or more based on your settings.

Sandbag Information

The City of DeLand is opening its sandbag location ahead of potential impacts from Hurricane Idalia.

The city's sandbag location will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday.

The sandbag station will be located in the parking lot south of Melching Field, 601 South Woodland Boulevard, at the corner of East Hubbard Avenue and South Woodland Boulevard.

Sand and bags will be on site. Please bring your shovel and ID for proof of residency.

There will be a limit of 10 bags per residence.

Waste pickup services

Waste and recycling services are expected to operate as normal on Wednesday as long as conditions allow. But there could be delays. If your garbage is normally serviced on Wednesday please have it ready for pickup.
